It's not every day the guy who runs the Fair's carnival games gets to win, let alone win $30,000 playing the Idaho Lottery. But that's exactly what happened to one California man who was in Idaho for his first time running the carnival games at the Western Idaho Fair in Boise.
Roberto Garner from Wilmington, California won $30,000 playing the Idaho Lottery's Scratch Game Pineapple Payout Cashword. He purchased his ticket after this year's fair closed from the Jacksons on Glenwood and Marigold by the Fairgrounds in Garden City.
Garner and his co-workers are headed to Blackfoot to work the Eastern Idaho Fair, but he said he does not anticipate coming back to Boise any time soon. And he certainly will not be back to claim another Lottery prize.
Garner plans to pay off some bills with his winnings and plans to stop playing.
