Wish Delivered: Classroom Supplies

This Wishlist will purchase classroom supplies and furniture for her aging classroom.

Ms. Faille says “Our school celebrated its 50th birthday last year which is absolutely amazing! However, being such an old school, many of our furniture pieces are just as old and breaking down with no budget to replace them. Last year one of the shelves on my bookcase broke, and the filing cabinet in my room is old and heavy and the drawers stick. The podium in my room that I use every single day has a wheel that falls off if you knock into it, which students do often, so I am having to fix it on a daily basis. I would also love new books to add to my bookshelves to continue to offer many choices so my students can continue their interest in reading!"

Wish Delivered: Chromebook Charger Carts

This Wishlist will provide a Chromebook charging cart to three different classrooms. Mrs. Marshall says,” This grant will be funding 3 laptop carts for Mrs. Marshall. Mrs. Kohli and Mrs. Adams' classrooms. With twenty-two students, twenty-two laptops and twenty two charging cords, it is hard to not end up with tangled cords, lost laptops or laptops that are not charged. Our building is older and has very few outlets for the students to charge their computers. This will allow us to place charging stations in our rooms, giving outlet access for every laptop to always be charged and ready to go. We will have less distractions with students moving around trying to charge their laptops, and more time to focus on their work. These carts will help to keep students (and the teachers) organized, charged up, and ready to learn!”

Wish Delivered: Books and Classroom Supplies

Teacher Brooke Lynne Johnson  says "I have a vision to create a classroom space that is safe and exciting for my students. I want to instill a love for reading in my students because I know that reading for pleasure is one of the most valuable ways that students learn. Not every child likes to read at first, but I do believe that there is a book for every student (maybe they just haven’t discovered it yet!). I created my Wishlist with this concept in mind. I want to create a classroom library that is full of engaging and relevant grade level books that all students will be excited to explore."

Wish Delivered: Class Set of Headphones

This Wishlist will help teacher Cynthia Gilbert purchase headphones for her kindergarten class. Being a veteran teacher, I have watched the classroom evolve from paper and pencil to computers, cell phones and chrome books. How can one compete with all that glamor! It is my role as an educator to provide an atmosphere so students will have success without distractions. Headphones will allow for such a pleasure!
