BOISE, Idaho ÔÇô Idaho's newest big jackpot game has a mega-jackpot for tomorrow night. The Mega Millions jackpot for Tuesday night is $330 million, nearly one-third of a billion dollars, making it the third largest jackpot ever offered to players in Idaho. As excitement builds for the game and retailers prepare to handle more players buying tickets for the big draw, the Idaho Lottery is reminding everyone to play within their means.
"Our jackpots are always big, but for tomorrow night's draw, there are 330 million reasons for players to buy a Mega Millions ticket," said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. "We are reminding all of our players that it only takes one ticket to win. Play what you can afford, don't go overboard."
If this jackpot were hit tomorrow night, it would tie for the seventh largest jackpot in the United States and would be the fifth largest ever won on Mega Millions. This current jackpot run began on November 10, 2010.
Mega Millions sales began in Idaho on January 31, 2010. Since launching the game, Idaho has had two $250,000 winners and one $1,000,000 winning ticket on the game.
The one time, lump sum cash option on Tuesday's jackpot is estimated at $208.3 million.
"Winning the jackpot, or even $1 million with the Megaplier option, can be a life-changing event," added Anderson. "We are also reminding players to sign their tickets prior to presenting any winners for payment to clarify ticket ownership."
Tickets for the draw are available until 7:55 p.m. Mountain Time (6:55 p.m. Pacific) on Tuesday night.
