Idaho Lottery Issues RFP for Package Delivery Services

BOISE, Idaho ÔÇô The Idaho Lottery has formally issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit bids from responsible, responsive, and experienced package delivery companies interested in providing these services between the Idaho Lottery and their approximately 1,200 retail locations statewide. The Idaho Lottery offers products in 165 cities and towns in the Gem State. The contract is expected to last five years beginning on November 1, 2018 and may be extended at the option of the Lottery twice for two-years each time. The estimated value of the contract is $2.5 million.

"As a responsible government agency, we continually examine the way we do business. We have a firm commitment to good government practices and transparency with respect to our contracted services," said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. "With a contract of this size and importance, we believe it is important for us to do our due diligence and examine the opportunities this may present."

Qualified package delivery company respondents to the RFP have until 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time on Friday, July 27, 2018 to provide the Idaho Lottery with written proposal submissions. A copy of the Package Delivery RFP may be downloaded from the Idaho Lottery's website at www.idaholottery.com/rfp.

The Idaho Lottery was created in 1989 and during its 29-year history, the Idaho Lottery has sourced its delivery services from qualified vendors operating in Idaho.

"This package delivery contract is another example of how the Idaho Lottery creates economic opportunity for businesses operating in the Gem State," added Anderson. "It is one more way we provide value to Idaho beyond our annual dividend returns for the benefit of Public Schools and the State's Permanent Building Fund, and the commissions earned by our brick and mortar retailers."
