Hailey woman wins $100,000; Pocatello man wins $50,000; Mega Millions jackpot at $270 million

BOISE, Idaho ÔÇô "This is for our new house!" proclaimed Sonia Landeros, Hailey, Idaho when she handed in her $100,000 winning ticket on the Idaho Lottery Scratch GameTM 10x the Money Thursday afternoon. ÔÇï

Landeros, an occasional Lottery player, purchased her winning ticket at Guffy's in Bellevue, but waited to claim her prize until she could drive to Boise.

In addition to paying for her new house, Landeros and her family had additional plans for the winnings.

"We're also putting this toward paying some bills and then going on a much needed vacation to Disneyland," added Landeros about her plans for her winnings.

For their part in selling the winning ticket, Guffy's in Bellevue receives a $10,000 bonus from the Idaho Lottery.

Thirty minutes later, Brian Williams from Pocatello claimed the last top prize of $50,000 on the Scratch GameTM Fantasy Blackjack. The ticket was purchased at the Maverik on Alameda in Pocatello. By claiming the last top prize, the game officially ends. For their part in selling the winning ticket, Maverik receives a bonus of $5,000 from the Idaho Lottery.

Fantasy Blackjack has a second chance draw where players can enter non-winning tickets for a chance to win a trip to Las Vegas. Players wishing to enter their non-winning tickets for the trip have until Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at 12 p.m. (noon) Mountain Time to enter them. The winner will be announced by 3:00 p.m. Mountain Time on Monday, March 31, 2014.

"We've seen a lot of activity and enthusiasm not for only our Scratch Games in the past two weeks, but also for the Mega Millions jackpot which is $270 million for tonight's draw," said Jeff Anderson, Idaho Lottery Director. "We're encouraging everyone to play responsibly and to sign their tickets prior to presenting them for payment."
